Agent and Founder

Redwood’s founder, Catherine Fowler, brought to her agency more than 20 years experience in mainstream publishing in New York.  As an editor, subsidiary rights director and associate publisher for Doubleday, Simon & Schuster and Random House she  worked with many top authors and well-known brands. After relocating to California in 1994, she gained entrepreneurial experience as a content executive for a number of well-known Internet start ups, including Excite and WebMD, where she ran their consumer travel and health content divisions.

Redwood Agency represented and sold consumer book projects to major publishers on health, parenting, aging, relationships, food and cooking, popular culture, women's interests, narrative nonfiction, memoir, business, and the occasional novel. Projects were sold to Random House, Crown, Wiley, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Hyperion, Shambhala, Jossey Bass, Rodale and others.
